We love the mountains and the people, but also the culture: there are many Unesco World Heritage Sites – old royal cities, temples and monasteries. Listening to the monks’ prayers and mantras with a cup of butter tea at dawn in the Tengboche monastery in the Everest region is a very special experience. Or when a herd of yaks announces itself with bells, carrying blue expedition barrels on the left and right of their bodies. They are large, majestic animals that feel at home in the high altitudes of the Himalayas.
The landscape is lush and green at the beginning of our trek, in spring the rhododendrons bloom white, pink and red… as the altitude increases, nature becomes sparser. But the villages with their green or blue painted roofs catch the eye. Finally, the high white mountains and everywhere the prayer flags fly in blue, white, red, green and yellow.
You have to see it with your own eyes, feel the wind in your hair, hear the sounds along the way and smell the delicious milk tea on the clay stove… Nepal is a feast for all the senses.
