Details

After arrival and a sightseeing tour of Nepal’s capital Kathmandu, we continue by minibus to Pokhara, a beautiful city at the foot of the Himalayan mountains. The city is the antithesis to the vibrant life in Kathmandu: idyllically situated on Lake Phewa, it is the perfect place to stroll and relax. We spend the night in Pokhara before setting off on our trekking tour the next day. We set off from Beni at 830 m and explore the western Annapurna region on untouched trails: passing villages with insights into the life of the Nepali people, we pass scenic, unknown viewpoints with spectacular views of the Annapurna region up to Khopra Danda at 3,600 m – the highlight of our trekking tour. The route is characterized by a varied trekking experience at moderate altitudes, many panoramic viewpoints, idyllic mountain villages and special contact with the local population, as the route is partly designed as a “community trek”. Due to the easily accessible trails at moderate altitudes, this trekking tour is also an attractive destination for Nepal beginners and experienced Nepal experts will also get their money’s worth on this new route through unknown areas. The diversity of Nepal is overwhelming.

You can extend the tour individually with our attractive additional modules “Chitwan National Park” or “Chitwan National Park with Lumbini – Birthplace of Buddha”.

Chitwan National Park:

We take a minibus from Pokhara to Chitwan National Park. For two whole days we explore the national park on foot or by jeep on jungle excursions. We also have the opportunity to see crocodiles in a dugout canoe on the river and visit an elephant breeding station. Chitwan National Park is famous for its rhinos and, with a bit of luck, we might spot the shy tigers. The return journey is by domestic flight back to Kathmandu.

Chitwan National Park with Lumbini – birthplace of Buddha:

Our additional module Chitwan National Park is supplemented by an additional travel day. We take the minibus west to Lumbini. Here we visit Buddha’s birthplace (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Maya Devi temple. We will be captivated by the special atmosphere of this important pilgrimage site for Buddhists from all over the world. After an overnight stay in Lumbini, you will take a domestic flight back to Kathmandu.

We will be happy to provide you with details of the tour on request.

This 16-day trekking trip takes you to altitudes of up to 3,600 m. The hike is designed to give you enough time to acclimatize to the altitude, which is crucial for success on a trekking tour. Most of the time we are on good hiking trails that are not particularly demanding. Parts of the tour also lead along unpaved and stony paths that require surefootedness. There are no technical difficulties. We spend several days at altitudes above 3,000 m. This is the challenge that needs to be mastered with a good walking pace and our professional group guide. It makes a difference whether you hike on the flat or uphill. You must be able to carry your daypack yourself for the entire tour. The walking time is up to 6-7 hours and you can climb or descend up to 1,200 meters in altitude. You should therefore prepare yourself well for the trek.
