I would like to introduce myself, Katja Dörig – one half of Hiking Inspirations:
I was born in 1971 in Leidersbach in Lower Franconia, but have lived in Upper Bavaria since 1999. The higher mountains only exist here …
My passion always drives me out into the mountains of the world. I have been on many trekking trips in Nepal, but also in Ladakh, Africa and Chile. Nepal has become my “second home” and the hospitality and joie de vivre of the people never cease to fascinate me. The view of the high mountains is breathtaking every time. Buddhist monasteries are places of peace and meditation for me.
I have been friends with an extended Nepalese Sherpa family from Khumjung, 3,790 m above Namche Bazar, for over 15 years. Kami, the son-in-law, is our reliable Nepalese partner for the trekking tours.
I am also a social pedagogue and have my own aid projects in Nepal. That was also the driving force behind founding Hiking Inspirations with my colleague Arno Aigner. It is very important to me to offer trekking tours as a mountain hiking guide and thus support my local social projects. My aim for Hiking Inspirations: To set off again and again, to explore new paths and to be curious and open to the country, its people and their culture.
