Annapurna, Tours

You think the Annapurna region knows no more secrets? Let yourself be surprised – Nar-Phu and Tilicho-Lake are among the region’s most hidden gems.

On this 19-day lodge trek, you will explore one of the most remote regions of Nepal: the original villages of Nar and Phu, nestled in the wild mountain landscape north of the Annapurna massif. On your way, you will cross high passes such as the Kang-La and Mesokanto-La, hike through deeply carved gorges and finally be rewarded at the turquoise-blue Tilicho Lake – one of the highest lakes in the world. This extraordinary route combines cultural insights into the Tibetan way of life with spectacular panoramas and the special attraction of being far off the beaten track.

Even the drive from the airport to the hotel is an experience in itself: Hindu temples alternate with colorful Buddhist stupas, everywhere there is hustle and bustle, honking, shouting, laughter – Nepal welcomes you with a mixture of chaos and magic. From Koto, we start our adventure into the remote valleys of Nar and Phu, which were closed to visitors for a long time. Even today, you still feel like you are in a different era here: ancient monasteries with large Buddha statues, artfully lined up mani walls and stone villages nestled against steep mountain slopes. We spend several days at high altitude, climbing up to the glacier moraine of the Himlung Himal base camp to acclimatize and only reach the main route of the Annapurna circumnavigation again at the monastery village of Braka. But our route continues: after Manang, we turn off to the legendary Tilicho Lake at an altitude of almost 5,000 meters. Up there, unforgettable views, deep silence and a spiritual atmosphere that captivates everyone await us.
