Nar Puh and Tilicho lake

Hidden Nar Puh and spiritual Tilicho Lake – lodge trekking

Overview

We hike into the hidden valleys of Nar and Phu north of the Annapurna massif. You will feel like you have been transported back to a bygone world. The area was only opened to tourism late and you need a special permit. As a result, the villages and landscape of the valley have remained picturesque and unspoiled. Breathtaking views of high Himalayan peaks, traditional remote villages, Tibetan way of life, high passes and pristine lakes await us.

Details

Even on the way from the airport to the hotel, you are amazed: Hindu temples, Buddhist stupas, chaotic traffic and an unfamiliar soundscape! Nepal is different, fascinating, exciting! Our trekking tour takes you from Koto to the unknown valleys of Nar and Puh. They were not accessible to tourists for a long time and you still feel as if you have been transported back in time. We visit some very old monasteries, there are large Buddha statues along the way and mani walls line the paths. We spend several days at high altitudes, hike up to the glacier moraine at Himlung Himal Basecamp to acclimatize and only rejoin the classic Annapurna circuit at the monastery village of Braka. Here we branch off again just after Manang to the fascinating mountain lake Tilicho lake at 4,920 m. The view, the tranquillity and the spiritual atmosphere cast a spell over us.

We will be happy to provide you with details of the tour on request.

This 19-day trekking tour takes you to altitudes of up to 5,300 m. The tour is designed to give you enough time to acclimatize to the altitude, which is crucial for success on a trekking tour. On this tour, acclimatization is optimal before crossing the pass.
Most of the time we are on good hiking trails that are not particularly demanding. Parts of the tour also lead along unpaved and stony paths that require surefootedness. A head for heights is absolutely essential for the hiking trail up to Puh, which is narrow in some places. We spend several days at altitudes above 3,000 m. Twice you will spend the night at altitudes above 4,000 m. This is the challenge that needs to be mastered with a good walking pace and our professional group guide. It makes a difference whether you hike on the flat or uphill. You must be able to carry your daypack yourself for the entire tour. The walking time is up to 7 hours on the day of the pass and you will cover an ascent of 1300 meters and a descent of approx. 1750 meters. You should prepare yourself well for the trek so that you can enjoy it.
