Details

Our tour starts with a minibus ride from Kathmandu to Syafrabesi at 1,460 meters. On a high-altitude trail with views of the Ganesh Himal and accompanied by lingur monkeys and wild boars, we climb up to Sherpagaun at 2,475 m, where we experience a fantastic sunset. In two days we hike up to Kyanjin Gumba 3,805 m, surrounded by many small villages, where we stay in a good lodge for two days. From our base, we climb Tsergo Ri 4,980 m the next day – a great panoramic mountain and the highest point of our trekking tour. Over the next few days, our descent in the Langtang valley leads us through beautiful forests with rhododendron and bamboo trees, lined with mani walls, down to the roaring river valley. Our onward journey into the valley of Gosainkund leads via Shin Gompa up to the sacred lakes of Gosainkund – the summer residence of God Shiva – at 4400m, our highest overnight stay in a well-run lodge with a view of the lake. The mysticism of the Hindu pilgrimage site and the mysterious lakes will cast a spell over us. Over the Laurebina Pass at 4,610 m, we descend from the Langtang National Park into the Helambu National Park and reach the village of Kutumsang in two days, surrounded by primeval forests and terraced fields, passing many small hamlets whose inhabitants live from farming. The minibus takes us back to Kathmandu, where we celebrate the successful tour in style.

We will be happy to provide you with details of the tour on request.

This 16-day trekking trip takes you to altitudes of up to 4,600 m. The hike is designed to give you enough time to acclimatize to the altitude, which is crucial for success on a trekking tour. You decide for yourself whether you want to climb up to Tsergo Ri at just under 5,000 m, depending on your physical condition and state of health. Most of the time we are on good hiking trails that are not particularly demanding. Parts of the tour also lead along unpaved and stony paths that require surefootedness. There are no technical difficulties. We spend several days at altitudes above 3,500 m. This is the challenge that needs to be mastered with a good walking pace and our professional group guide. It makes a difference whether you hike on the flat or uphill. You must be able to carry your daypack yourself for the entire tour. The walking time is up to 7 hours and you can climb or descend up to 1,500 meters in altitude. You should therefore prepare yourself well for the trek.
