Details

After our arrival in Kathmandu, we recover from the exertions of the flight in a good and centrally located hotel.

The following day we visit the temple of Swayambuntha and the royal city of Bhaktapur. A visit to a Nepalese family gives us an insight into their living conditions. The following days are filled with trekking and cultural experiences. We fly to Lukla and spend the night in Phakding or Monjo after a first hike. We then continue on our way to the Khumbu capital of Namche Bazar and on to the Green Valley in Khumjung. There we visit the Hillary Memorial, the hospital of the same name and the Gomba of Khumjung. We reach the Buddhist monasteries of Tengpoche and Dingpoche over the next few days with spectacular views of the Himalayan giants. True to the motto climb high-sleep low, we climb ever higher towards Mount Everest. At the Kalar Pattar lookout mountain at 5,643 m, the 8,000 m peaks are already within reach and the view is overwhelming. We get even closer the next day on an excursion to Everest Base Camp at the foot of the world’s highest mountain. Our onward route takes us over the ChoLa (5,330 m) to Gorak Shep – at 5,200 m our highest overnight stop. From the summit of Gokyo Ri 5,360 m, one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in the Solo Khumbu, we can enjoy a fantastic sunrise with a view of the 8,000 m peaks. Over another pass crossing, Renjo La 5,400 m, we pass Thame and return to Namche Bazar and take the familiar route back to Lukla. From there we fly back to Kathmandu the next morning and conclude our unforgettable time together on Everest with a cozy farewell evening.

We will be happy to provide you with details of the tour on request.

This challenging trekking tour takes you over passes at altitudes of up to 5400 m. The summit ascents are optional and your own decision, depending on your fitness and condition. Like all our tours, the tour is designed to give you enough time to acclimatize to the altitude. You should be free from giddiness and sure-footed for this tour. You can move independently and safely on grassy slopes, scree fields and moraine debris. There are no technical difficulties. We spend several days at altitudes above 4,000 m. This is the challenge that needs to be mastered with a good walking pace and our professional group guide. It makes a difference whether you hike on the flat or uphill. You must be able to carry your daypack yourself for the entire tour. The walking time is up to 6 hours and you can climb or descend up to 1,000 meters in altitude. If you cross a pass, the walking time can be extended to 8 hours depending on the conditions. You should therefore prepare yourself well for the trek.
