Details

After arrival and transfer to our hotel, we spend the following days visiting cultural highlights in Kathmandu and the nearby royal city of Bhaktapur. An interesting flight takes us up to Lukla at 2,800 m – the starting point of our trek. The tour takes us past the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazar to the Buddhist monastery of Tengboche, where you may be lucky enough to witness a puja by the monks. The trail leads us more and more to the ice and snow giants of the Solo Khumbu. In good weather, we enjoy a fantastic view of the nearby 8,000-metre peaks from the summit of the Kalar Pattar panoramic mountain. We get even closer to Everest on an excursion to the base camp at 5,380 m. We will never forget the crack of the ice towers. The return journey is a circular route on trekking trails to Khumjung and back to Lukla on the familiar route. In Kathmandu, we celebrate with our team at a typical Nepalese dhal bat dinner before setting off on our journey home.

We will be happy to provide you with details of the tour on request.

This challenging trekking tour takes you to altitudes of up to 5,400 m. The summit ascent is optional and your own decision, depending on your fitness and condition. Like all our tours, the tour is designed to give you enough time to acclimatize to the altitude. Most of the time we are on good hiking trails that are not particularly demanding. Parts of the tour also lead along unpaved and stony paths that require surefootedness. There are no technical difficulties. We spend several days at altitudes above 4,000 m. This is the challenge that needs to be mastered with a good walking pace and our professional group guide. It makes a difference whether you are walking on the flat or uphill. You must be able to carry your daypack yourself for the entire tour. The walking time is up to 6 hours and you can climb or descend up to 1,000 meters in altitude. You should therefore prepare yourself well for the trek.
